Hi, I'm Carly.

Chief of Staff. Operations leader. Builder. Mom. Writer. Someone who gets genuinely excited about a well-built process.

I didn't start as an operator. I started as someone who kept noticing the gaps. The process that didn't exist. The team that wasn't talking. The strategy with no execution layer beneath it. So, I built them.

Over 12 years across healthcare, sports tech, and AI legal tech, I've worked my way from project management into full COO-scope operations, leading teams, owning P&L inputs, and sitting in the room where the hardest decisions get made.

I believe that good operations is an act of translation — between founders and teams, between strategy and reality, between what a company is today and what it needs to become. Most importantly? I do everything with a human-first mindset.

I'm also the COO of Human First, a brand built around the belief that we can say the hard things and establish a practice that helps us be our best selves, whether at work or in our every day life.

HOW I WORK

My approach

Listen before building

Before I touch a single process, I talk to people. I learn how work actually flows, where the friction lives, and what the team needs that they haven't been able to ask for yet.

Build the foundation

I stand up the infrastructure that lets everyone else do their jobs. OKR frameworks, operating cadences, reporting systems. The unsexy stuff that makes everything else possible.

Align people and systems

The best system fails if people don't trust it. I work across leadership and teams to make sure the operational layer actually gets used and reflects how the org works.

Scale and step back

I build things to outlast me. Documentation, training, handoffs. Good ops infrastructure shouldn't require a specific person to hold it together.

In a previous life

Before the ops leadership roles, I spent nearly a decade in consulting and agency environments; building PMOs, managing client portfolios, and learning how organizations actually work from the inside out. That foundation is why I can walk into a company and know what it needs before it does.
